In April the Russian Ministry for Information Technologies and Communications and the Russian Ministry for Education and Science will form a workgroup for ICT interaction with the European Union. It will become the start of the Russian-European cooperation under the Seventh European Framework Programme, FP7, which will allocate 9.1 billion euro for its ICT-part. The overall budget of FP7, which is scheduled for 2007-2011, is 54 billion euro. ICT works support is a separate direction which gets the biggest funding. The program is aimed at transforming the EU into a 'science intensive economic area' or, at least, more science intensive than the US or Japan. http://www.ospint.com/text/d/3994595/ |
